An afternoon tea is a reset. ☕️💌
I remember that during my hotel years, the hours between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. were often considered the sleepy part of the day 😴 Appointments were rarely scheduled during that time, as most guests preferred business lunches and afternoon meetings were uncommon. Plus, after 8pm seemed a better time to finish my work till 10pm 🕙 daily.
The only occasions I truly entertained afternoon tea were with in-house guests or participants attending residential seminars.
Perhaps because of that, I never really cultivated the habit of setting aside time for myself.
Even today, my schedule is often filled with responsibilities and commitments. 24 hours seem not enough. That is why moments like these feel especially precious. 😇 To simply sit down with a cup of tea, enjoy a meaningful conversation with a loved one, or even spend quiet time alone, is a luxury I deeply appreciate. 🥰
In fact, I prefer my own company more and more. There is something introspective about the stillness. Just me, my thoughts, motivations, and a peaceful pause from the unnecessary noise of the world. 🤫☕️🥧🍴
Sometimes, an afternoon tea is not just about the tea. It is about slowing down, resetting, and giving ourselves permission to simply be.
