🎷✨ A Sold-Out Jazz Night at Hotel Kras - Jean John Quartet ft. Kelly Green

Hotel Kras - Jazz Hram was buzzing on Friday, March 20, when jazz lovers filled the bar for a packed Jazz v Postojni evening with the Jean John Quartet — and one of the most exciting new voices coming straight from New York.

Led by internationally acclaimed Slovenian drummer Žan Tetičkovič, the quartet brought together a powerhouse lineup connected to the vibrant New York jazz scene: bassist Luca Soul Rosenfeld, saxophonist Lenart Krečič, and the standout of the night — pianist and vocalist Kelly Green.

✨ Kelly Green, widely recognized as one of the most exciting emerging voices on the New York jazz scene, captivated the audience with her expressive voice, magnetic stage presence, and fresh original compositions that are already gaining international attention.

The band performed a set rich in original music by Jean John and Kelly Green— creating a dynamic, modern jazz experience that kept the audience engaged from the first note to the last.

Sullivan Fortner Trio │ A masterclass in modern jazz in Klub CD ✨

Only a few months after appearing at the Ljubljana Jazz Festival alongside vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant, pianist Sullivan Fortner returned to Ljubljana with his working trio.

The visit came just weeks after he received his third Grammy Award, this time for Best Instrumental Jazz Album for Southern Nights. His current trio — featuring bassist Tyrone Allen II and drummer Kayvon Gordon — has been performing regularly together since 2021, and the near two-hour performance at Klub CD demonstrated how deeply this ensemble language has developed.

🎶 Matt Dwonszyk – Live at the Side Door

On Live at the Side Door, bassist Matt Dwonszyk captures the electricity of a band that has grown together through years of shared stages and musical exploration.

The quintet—Josh Bruneau (trumpet), Matt Knoegel (tenor sax), Taber Gable (piano), Jonathan Barber (drums), and Dwonszyk—draws on deep roots in Hartford’s vibrant jazz scene and the legacy of the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz.

Recorded in the intimate setting of The Side Door Jazz Club, the album delivers everything that makes live jazz unforgettable: spontaneity, fearless interplay, and the spark that happens when musicians and audience breathe in the same moment.

✨ A reminder that the magic of jazz often lives in the room where it’s played.

🎺 In the Brass Palace — Kurt Elling & WDR Big Band

Big band jazz isn’t just music — it’s architecture. It demands precision, fire, deep rhythmic drive, and room for imagination. On In the Brass Palace, Kurt Elling and the legendary WDR Big Band deliver all of that and more.

This stunning new album — released February 13, 2026, on Big Shoulders Records — casts Elling’s voice not as an ornament, but as an integral partner in a widescreen big band narrative. From rich reinterpretations of jazz classics to freshly imagined vocalese and orchestral interplay, In the Brass Palace isn’t just a record — it’s a journey through the full expressive range of large-ensemble jazz.

BEATrio - Béla Fleck | Edmar Castañeda | Antonio Sánchez ✨

When a banjo legend, a harp revolutionary, and a drum icon walk on stage… expect magic.

With 19 Grammys, banjo pioneer Béla Fleck lands in Ljubljana with a trio of pure virtuosity. His accomplices? Drum icon Antonio Sánchez, whose polyrhythmic genius fueled the Pat Metheny Group for 18 years, and Colombian force of nature Edmar Castañeda, the musician who boldly planted the jazz harp flag alongside greats like Wynton Marsalis. Banjo, harp, drums—prepare for a genre-shattering dialogue. Together, these three masters promise an evening of breathtaking improvisation and genre-defying dialogue, a concert that witnesses not just a performance, but the unfolding of a new chapter in acoustic music.

This isn’t just a concert. It’s a breathtaking dialogue where virtuosity rewrites the rules.

Witness the chapter unfold.

Amaury Faye’s “RUST”: A Modern, Groove-Forward Ode to New Orleans That Stands Out ✨

The final stretch of the year is always packed with new music, making it a real challenge for an album to cut through the noise.

RUST, the new album from French pianist/composer Amaury Faye, does exactly that.

This is a record that grabs you immediately with its irresistible grooves, then reveals itself as a deeply thoughtful compositional masterpiece. It’s a tribute to New Orleans, but not as a postcard. Instead, Faye absorbs the city’s rhythmic soul—ragtime, blues, gospel, early jazz—and reframes it through a modern lens.

The result is music that’s historically rich, yet vibrantly current. An album for right now.

Listen to RUST, produced by Clearway Prod.

Beyond the Groove: The Soulful Ascent of Vincen Garcia ✨

Vincen García stands at the forefront of modern jazz and funk. Celebrated worldwide and ranked among the top ten most-streamed bassists on the planet, he has built an unstoppable presence. We sat down with him for a conversation that finds García both reflective and forward-looking. His ascent accelerated in September 2023 with a defining career moment: a last-minute call from Cory Wong to join his European tour. That trial by fire—combined with years of steady work in studios and on stages—helped forge an artist now operating at a new level.

García’s appeal lies in the clarity of his voice and the joy with which he shares it. He plays from a lineage that spans the foundational slap of Larry Graham, the harmonic innovations of Jaco Pastorius, and the modern drive of Snarky Puppy, yet what emerges is unmistakably his own: warm, open, and fully committed.

Kurt Elling & Yellowjackets at Zagreb Jazz Festival 2025: A Weather Report Celebration Reimagined

When an artist celebrates music, the result can feel ceremonial. When a whole band does it, it becomes communal. Kurt Elling and Yellowjackets stepped onto the stage of Kino SC for the final concert of their European tour with a very specific purpose: to honor the legacy of Weather Report — the visionary sound-world of Joe Zawinul, Wayne Shorter, and Jaco Pastorius.

Elling introduced the evening with a quick joke — “We rehearsed for a month and a half for this concert” — and the next ninety minutes proved that he was hardly exaggerating. This was a performance built on mastery, trust, and the joyful rigor of collective music-making.
