I see a lot of conversations about fear of visibility. When we hesitate to market ourselves, we often assume confidence is the problem: fear of judgment, impostor syndrome, perfectionism.

Sometimes it is. But I’ve been wondering if there’s another reason.

I had no confidence inviting anyone into something I couldn’t explain — even to myself.

When you’re building something new around years of experience and expertise, you’re also deciding what you want that expertise to become in the future. Who are you becoming? What are you building? Who do you want to help? What are you ready to stand behind?

You’re not starting from zero. But you are creating something that didn’t exist before, and some of those decisions need time and real-world experience before you can articulate them clearly.

So maybe not every hesitation to market ourselves is a fear we need to overcome. Sometimes we hesitate because there are still things we haven’t decided, understood or learned to explain.

And it’s difficult to confidently invite someone into something you cannot yet explain.

Maybe it’s not fear of visibility. Maybe clarity has to come first.

A new episode of Heart-Centered & Head strong is live, this time with our dear guest, Stacey Divers-Turner.

So many women wait until burnout, layoffs, grief, or life disruption force them to change.

But what if the deeper invitation is to pivot with purpose before survival mode makes the decision for you?

In this episode, we talk with Stacey Divers-Turner about corporate success, caregiving, business ownership, flexibility, purpose, and the courage to consciously choose a different path. We explore what caregiving taught her about leadership, why she chose a proven business path instead of building from scratch, and why real security may have more to do with ownership, time, and legacy than titles or paychecks.

This episode is for women who are feeling the early signs of burnout, navigating caregiving or transition, and wondering whether the life they’ve built still truly fits.

I've been thinking about why so many experienced professionals suddenly feel like beginners when they decide to become coaches.

I don't think it's because they lack business knowledge.

Many of them have spent years becoming experts. What they haven't had to do is become interpreters of their own expertise.

Inside an organisation, someone else decides who the work is for, what problem it solves, and why it matters. When you step out on your own, those decisions suddenly become yours.

That's why questions like How do I create an offer? What should I charge? How do I market myself? can feel so overwhelming.

Perhaps they're not business questions at all.

Perhaps they're recognition questions in disguise.

The real challenge isn't building a coaching business. It's recognising the contribution that has been quietly growing through years of experience and giving it a business that can finally hold it.

I'm curious... when did you first realise that the way you wanted to help people no longer fitted comfortably inside the system you were working in?

Marketing isn't your first problem
If your expertise feels ready to go out in the world and you're asking what it really takes to make your coaching business work, the answer is of course marketing. But there's an aspect of marketing that nobody really talks about.
Everyone discusses strategies and tactics. Algorithms, hooks, proven formulas. There are thousands of prompts and reel ideas out there, all claiming to bring in clients, followers and income. And they do work... for the people who created them. But can you use them and achieve the same success? Probably not. If that were true, we'd all be millionaires by now.
Here's why: marketing is a delivery service. It delivers messages to your audience. But it's on you to prepare the content of those messages in a way that serves their purpose. You need to be clear what to talk about, what to say, and why someone should stop scrolling, recognize your perspective and feel the pull to go deeper with you.
That clarity doesn't come from a single hook or prompt. It's a process, and I call it the homework that needs to be done before you jump into marketing if you want to get paid fairly and continuously for your work. You need to create a strong messaging system around your brand and offers, and you need to recognize what about you sets you apart from everyone else doing similar work.
So here's what I'd like you to consider: what if your marketing isn't underperforming because you need a better strategy, but because you haven't yet recognized what truly deserves to be communicated?

Do you find yourself struggling to bring your ideas to life?

We often call ourselves inconsistent, self-sabotaging, or procrastinating. But what if sometimes this is simply self-protection? What if your nervous system does not feel safe enough yet, and your body resists because what you are trying to do requires you to become the next version of yourself?

That can be scary too.

Embodiment is often what we admire in the people we follow as examples. They act naturally. Their words land. They practice what they preach, and we can feel that they are not performing.

Authenticity and embodiment go together. You speak from who you are, what you believe, and what you stand for. And in a time when people are becoming more sensitive to what is real and what is not, that matters.

Embodiment asks for repetition. It asks you to practice, build safety, increase your capacity, and stay with discomfort long enough for the new way of being to become more familiar.

What helps? Practice, coaching, support, honest self-observation, slowing down, and tuning into your intuition.

Transformation does not happen only because we learn something. It happens when we practice what we know.

This is also why we created The Collective. We wanted to create a space not only for learning, but for practicing. A place where you can be supported by the right people, experiment, and have a safe place to fail without making failure mean that you are not capable.

The Collective officially launches in September, and we are currently inviting Founding Members to help us shape it from the beginning.

There is something deeply exciting about creating something new that’s meant just for yourself.

Something that comes from your desire. Your values. Your vision for the life you want to live. Ultimately, the lifestyle you want to create.

And then there is the not-so-exciting part of this process of becoming… the messy middle.

The in-between season where the idea feels so alive and so close, but the confidence to speak about it clearly is still forming. The season where you may feel you shouldn’t invite people into something you still can’t fully explain yourself.

And that can feel very lonely.

Rachel and I both believe that growth should not be a solo journey. And it doesn’t have to be.

This is why we created Heart-Centered & Headstrong Collective — a coaching community for people navigating meaningful change in life and business.

A space where you don’t have to carry it all alone. Or feel embarrassed that you’re in the messy middle. Where you can show up even before everything feels polished and fully formed.

We talk more about our why in the latest episode of our podcast. If you want to hear what led us here, listen here:

Jamie Mleko shared something on our podcast that stayed with me.

As a young girl, she always wanted to be a mom. And she fulfilled that dream. Her family became everything to her. She became a wife, a mother of seven, a caretaker, someone who poured herself into doing her best for everyone she loved.

But somewhere in that, she started losing herself.

She spoke about being in survival mode in motherhood. About not really taking care of herself. About forgetting who she was beyond being needed. About not returning to the other dreams God had placed in her life.

And I think this is such an important conversation, because this is where so many women quietly find themselves.

They love the life they chose. And still, something inside them starts saying: this is not the whole story.

That was the turning point for Jamie. She said yes to something for herself. She stepped into entrepreneurship as an Independent Associate with Tranont, and that one yes started changing her from the inside out.

Not just because of the business itself, but because of who she had to become in the process.

She started reading self-development books, listening to podcasts, getting around people who encouraged her. She started growing in confidence. At one point, she realized she had been borrowing belief in herself from someone else — from a friend who believed in her. And then she understood that at some point, she had to find that belief in herself.

That part really struck me.

Because this is so often what building a business really is. Yes, there’s strategy. Yes, there are offers, sales, and visibility. But underneath all of that, there is the deeper work:

learning to trust yourself
taking the next step in faith, even while fear is still there
owning your worth
allowing yourself to grow into another part of who you are

Jamie also said something powerful: if you’re in the messy middle, don’t stuff it, don’t hide from it, and don’t face it alone. Find a coach, a community, someone who can support you. Someone who can hold belief for you while you’re learning to build your own.

That’s such an honest reminder.

Business is so much about the journey of personal growth. It has been true for me, and it was clearly true for Jamie too.

If you’ve ever felt that the life you built was real and meaningful — but still not the whole story of who you are — this episode will speak to you.

What Happens When Motherhood Is No Longer the Whole Story?

Can I share something I've noticed?

The moment we decide we want more from our lives, something interesting happens.

We assume the hardest part will be figuring out what to do. But usually that's not the hard part. Most people know what they want. They know they need to be more visible, trust themselves more, make the offer, speak up, stop hiding...

The hard part is becoming the kind of person who can hold that new reality.

Because every time we try to grow, we're also leaving behind an old identity: the version of us that played small, stayed safe, and waited for certainty.

And that can feel surprisingly uncomfortable.

I've started to think that growth isn't really about learning something new. It's about staying with the discomfort of becoming someone new.

And honestly, I think that's why so many people feel lonely in the middle of change. Not because they're doing anything wrong, but because there's so much happening on the inside while there's still very little evidence of it on the outside. No real results yet. Not much to show for all the inner work that's taking place.

This has been a big conversation behind the scenes for Rachel Tamilio and me lately. We've been asking ourselves: What kind of space would actually support women through the reality of becoming?

Not the theory.
The reality.
More on that very soon.

You can be productive… and completely out of alignment at the same time.

And when that happens, productivity becomes a trap.

It drains your energy. It disconnects you from your work. It slowly removes the meaning from what you’re building. And the more you push, the further you feel from what you actually want.

This is the part people try to skip.

The part where things don’t feel clear. Where you’re not fully sure who you are in this new phase. Where what used to work doesn’t fit anymore — but the new version of you isn’t fully formed yet.

This is where you stop copying, stop performing, and start figuring out what is actually yours.

What you stand for.
What you want to be known for.
What your work really is.

And yes — it’s uncomfortable.

Because you’re not just building a business. You’re becoming someone new.

If you’re in that space right now — doing a lot, but feeling like something is still off — it’s not a productivity problem.

It’s an alignment one.

And this is exactly the work I do.

Helping you make sense of what’s already there, shape your message from within, and build a brand that actually reflects who you are — not just what you think you should be doing.

If you’re ready to stop fixing the surface and start working on what’s underneath, I’m here.
