❄️🏔️ The Dobšinská Ice Cave is open again!

After a seasonal closure, visitors can once again access one of Slovakia’s most extraordinary caves – a place where ice reigns throughout the entire year 💙

👉 When young mining engineer Eugen Ruffíny descended into it in 1870, he had no idea he had discovered a natural wonder of global significance.

✨ Did you know?

❄️ The Dobšinská Ice Cave contains one of the largest volumes of underground ice in the world
🌍 Since 2000, it has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Natural Heritage List
🏔️ It is part of the more than 28-kilometre-long Dobšiná–Stratenská cave system
⏳ A complete renewal of the cave’s ice takes approximately 2,500 years
💡 It was among the first electrically illuminated caves in Europe as early as 1887
🦇 It provides shelter for rare cold-loving bat species

🏔️ During the tour, you’ll experience monumental ice chambers, tunnels carved directly into the glacier, and massive ice pillars that constantly change throughout the year.

💙 Every visit is unique – the ice inside the cave is continuously evolving, telling a story that has been written for centuries.
