At first we were told the alleged ship never docked in Freetown. Now we are hearing the same ship allegedly left Sierra Leone carrying palm kernel, diesel, and tons of drinking water.

So naturally, citizens will ask questions:

• Since when did Sierra Leone start exporting palm kernel to Spain through this route?
• Who owns the palm kernel cargo?
• Why wasn’t the cargo shipped properly in containers?
• Why are the explanations changing?

Sometimes the more a story changes, the harder it becomes for people to believe it.

Transparency builds trust. Contradictions destroy it.
