President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio, held a one on one conversation with Africa's most successful businessman, Aliko Dangote, who is a member of the new ECOWAS Business Council.

The meeting focused on strengthening economic cooperation and exploring opportunities for investment and private sector development within the ECOWAS region.

President Bio stated that he looks forward to working closely with Aliko Dangote to promote economic growth, regional integration, and business development across West Africa.

𝗗𝗿. 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗵 served as Sierra Leone Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education from 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟵 𝘁𝗼 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯, during which he played a key role in implementing the government's Free Quality School Education (FQSE) programme. The initiative expanded access to education for thousands of pupils across the country and sought to reduce barriers to learning.

During his tenure, the Ministry introduced curriculum reforms aimed at promoting critical thinking, creativity, civic responsibility, and digital literacy among students. Dr. Sengeh also championed the use of technology in education, including digital data systems and school mapping, to improve planning and service delivery in the sector.

Under his leadership, Sierra Leone strengthened remote learning initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic through radio and other platforms to ensure continuity in education. He also advocated for inclusive education policies supporting girls, children with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups, earning recognition for his innovative approach to education reform.

Former Sierra Leone presidential candidate Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray has publicly alleged that Sierra Leone’s First Lady, Fatima Maada Bio, used $210,000 to obtain a degree in the United States of America. According to Kamarainba, the amount is equivalent to approximately 5 billion Leones.

The claim was made publicly by the former presidential candidate, however, no official evidence has been presented to support the allegation.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗖𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬 𝗕𝗘𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗗 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗣𝗛𝗔 𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗧 𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗦 𝗔𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗘𝗗 𝗣𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗛𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗕𝗬 𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗙𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥: A heartbreaking incident in Freetown has reportedly led to a young boy losing both of his hands following an act of punishment.

According to the parents of the victim, identified as David Mustapha, the child was sent by his grandfather to a phone telecenter. They explained that David accidentally lost a card issued to him by the center during the errand.

The parents alleged that upon learning of the missing card, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗳𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝘆 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺. They further claimed that the child hands remained tightly bound for more than four hours before community members became aware of the situation and intervened to rescue him.

According to the family, 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀, 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 due to the severity of the injuries.

The father reportedly initially declined the recommendation and sought treatment at Connaught Government Hospital and later in Bo in hopes of saving the child's hands.

However, despite several attempts to seek medical care, the condition allegedly worsened, and David eventually underwent the amputation of both hands in Freetown.

The family further confirmed that the boy's grandfather is currently in the custody of the Sierra Leone Police as investigations into the matter continue.
