Police Hospital Launches Free Surgical Campaign as Tenth Batch of Surgeons Arrives from Spain
The Police Hospital at Kingtom has commenced a nationwide free surgical campaign following the arrival of the tenth batch of medical volunteers from the Surgeons in Action Foundation. The international medical team, comprising specialist surgeons from Spain, arrived in Freetown on 14th November 2025 to support police personnel, their families, and community members across Sierra Leone.
Prior to the commencement of surgeries, preliminary screenings were conducted in all locations with police hospitals or health facilities to identify eligible patients. With the assessment phase completed and patients already selected, surgical operations have officially begun at the Kingtom Police Hospital.
According to hospital authorities, the free surgical intervention is aimed at improving access to specialised medical care for vulnerable groups and strengthening the overall health support system within police communities.
Further updates will be communicated as the surgeries continue throughout the campaign period.
