Clevia Park, situated in the heart of Suriname, Paramaribo, has taken its next step in its Going Green Initiative by opening Surinameโs first and largest natural pool. Jim Rasam, CEO of Clevia Park, boasts that the new pool will have many health benefits as well as allow individuals with respiratory problems and chlorine allergies to swim without any complications.
โWhat is a natural pool?โ you might be asking yourself now โAnd how does it work?โ
A natural pool, also sometimes called eco pools or organic pools uses natural elements such as rocks, gravel, and aquatic plants to keep the water healthy and bacteria and algae-free. This is what is called a biofilter and a naturally occurring process within nature. These pools often sport a greenish tint but they can also be as clear as any traditional pool.
Asthma and other respiratory problems, as well as skin irritations ranging from dry skin and rashes to chlorine burns and eczema, have been known to be caused by swimming in chlorinated pools thus the health benefits of a natural pool are quite a lot.
Clevia Park also boasts other family-friendly and children's activities including day tours, boat tours, fishing, workshops, summer school, a petting zoo, massage areas, a restaurant as well as a museum dedicated to the indigenous tribes of Suriname.
Clevia Parkโs Green Initiative doesnโt seem to be stopping here. The nature pool seems to be just one of many goals this organization is hoping to achieve. We are all waiting with great excitement and bated breath to see what awaits in the future.
