Kiir orders security, gov't agencies to probe the Nyakuron fire incident

President Kiir has ordered relevant security and government agencies to investigate the exact cause of the fire in Nyankuron and the part of the customs market.

The head of state urged government agencies to provide all necessary support to assist the affected traders.

The relevant security and government agencies are also directed to review and reinforce fire safety protocols in Juba and across the country.

This came after the electoral body in Gabon declared Ali Bongo, the winner of an election that the opposition said was rigged.

President Kiir Departs To Wau For A Political Rally

Tuesday, 4th of July 2023.

President Salva Kiir Mayardit who is also the SPLM chairman left Juba for Wau this morning to address political rally there.

Thousands of people from the states of Bahr El Ghazal and Abyei special Administrative Area are gathering in Wau to celebrate the sole nomination of President Kiir as SPLM flag bearer for 2023 general elections.

Presidential affairs Minister, Dr Barnaba Marial Benjamin said the president's visit to Wau will be follow by similar tour to states of Equatoria and Upper Nile regions to interact with electorates, and deliver to them the message of hope, peace and unity.
