I got the honor to present in Las Vegas for the UCDA conference! A unique experience that reminded me why I love design, teaching, and the power of sharing ideas with others.
I presented a module a created for my students called “Typography as Voice”, an exploration of how experimental type can become more than letters on a page. It can become a way to communicate lived experiences, health stories, emotions, and identities that are often hard to explain with words alone.
My project Helvetica PCOS became the example of the way I explored how type can carry vulnerability, research, and voice. And as an educator, this presentation also became a reflection on how we can invite students to take risks, experiment, listen deeply, and design with more empathy.
Grateful for this opportunity, for the conversations, and for the reminder that design can be a space for visibility, care, and shared experiences. 💗✨
