19 training modules validated to strengthen community-based natural resource management across Eswatini.

Through SAPEMP, EWADE convened stakeholders from government, technical institutions, development partners and community-based organisations to validate Levels 1 and 2 of the National NRM Training Manual.

The two-day workshop assessed the modules for technical accuracy, relevance and practical application, generating key recommendations to strengthen the manual before finalisation and rollout to support Natural Resource Management Committees (NRMCs) at community level.

Farmers Go Digital!
Farmers are going digital as 91 farmer cluster leads and extension officers receive training to strengthen digital project monitoring under SAPEMP.
Representing 37 farmer clusters across 40 project sites, participants are building practical skills in using digital tools to capture, manage and report agricultural information, supporting better tracking of progress, services and results from the field.
With 3,000 farmers already profiled, the digital system is being built to support information management for SAPEMP’s 19,600 targeted beneficiaries, including 14,100 farmers.

91 farmer leaders and extension officers trained to strengthen digital project monitoring under SAPEMP.

The training brought together 56 farmer cluster leads and 35 extension officers, representing 37 farmer clusters across 40 project sites, to build practical understanding of digital tools for capturing, managing and reporting agricultural information.

Participants were introduced to farmer diaries, the SAPEMP digital cluster tool and the EWADE/SAPEMP information system, which is supporting the transition from paper-based records to digital data collection.

With 3,000 farmers already profiled, the system is being built to support the management of information for the project’s targeted 19,600 beneficiaries, including 14,100 farmers.

Digitalization is helping put better information in the hands of those supporting farmers, strengthening how progress, services and results are tracked from the field.

Smallholder farmers are at the heart of Eswatini’s agricultural transformation and through the Smallholder Agricultural Productivity Enhancement and Marketing Project (SAPEMP), EWADE is helping rural farmers turn their potential into sustainable livelihoods.
Funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), SAPEMP is supporting 19,600 smallholder farmers and households, with a focus on increasing production, strengthening market linkages, improving nutrition and building resilience to climate change.
