These days, my clients and my friends seek to find new condominiums to rent in order to work from home. I did some research and summarized tips for organizing their workspace effectiveness.
7 Tips for Organizing your Condo Workspace for the Ultimate Work-From-Home Effectiveness.
1. Organize your desk properly. Keep it tidy, dedicate a shelf for documents. Always have a few office supplies ready, for example, a pen, pencil, and blank paper. So that you can jot down novel ideas during work.
2. Choose a work corner with an open view and green color. Green is a color that helps you to relax while working. If possible, choose a corner of your room with a view overlooking the green garden. Or place a few green plants in your work area to decorate your space and help reduce work stress.
3. Set yourself up to work comfortably and ergonomically. Rather than sitting on your bed or sofa, get a desk and a comfortable chair with back support. Make sure you have electrical outlets, strong wi-fi and sufficient light. A few easily accessible snacks will help you avoid hunger pangs and help you complete your task at hand before breaking for a meal.
4. Clean your room regularly. A cleanroom will make you feel organized and efficient, it’s hard to do your best work when your room is cluttered and disorganized. Your mind always follows its surroundings. Keep your work area clean.
5. Switch it around. If you’re feeling bored or trapped, try relocating your workspace to a new corner. Changing your workplace can reduce stress and increase creativity. You can also try switching to work in a coffee shop or a common area of your condo.
6. Choose a quiet place to work. A quiet workplace helps you maintain concentration not to mention avoid distractions while video conferencing with your client, teammates, or your bosses. Consider your bedroom because this room is usually designed to be the quietest room in a condo. It’s designed to let you sleep peacefully, and is ideal for video conferencing.
7. Eliminate distractions. Pets and kids should be separated from your office so that they don’t distract you while working. Plan to work uninterrupted, and that will let you clear your work so you have plenty of time afterward to play with your pets and your kids without the need to worry about unfinished tasks.
