A wet but worthwhile experience the rain made the adventure more memorable. From exploring the rich histories of old shops in Petaling Street to racing through the quiz mission, every moment was filled with laughter, teamwork, and discovery ☔️🦶

Dasein X USW Idea Jam Session

Featuring Lee Thomas from .advertising from UK, our programme had a fun opportunity hosting with .dasein for creative idea jam session✨

In just 6 hours, students teamed up from different disciplines challenging the perspectives, and crafting ideas that respond to real societal issues, before bringing them to life in a pitching session.

A true exchange of thinking across cultures, disciplines, and experiences across programmes and international partner was truly raw and intense 💨🔥

Once a powerful tool for mass communication and artistic expression, silk screen remains a relevant and contemporary practice today, which is valued for its tactile and hands-on approach.

Graphic design students don’t just learn design digitally. We do encourage students to experience it physically through bridging design history with modern creative skills. Silk screen process strengthens their ex*****on skills, helping them think in layers, materials, and production by turning concepts into impactful, tangible outcomes.

From hands-on techniques to the rich history behind every imprint, a big thank you to Mr. Yeoh and the facilitators for their warm, engaging session through their knowledge sharing generously ✨

✨ Event Wrap-Up: DGD232 Quirktopia Art Bazaar ✨

What an incredible turnout! The DGD232 Quirktopia Art Bazaar welcomed 400+ visitors, including industry representatives from agencies and creative companies such as Naga DDB Tribal, Leo KL, Trinity Visual Communication, Futuremade, LIE, Rtist, alongside high-profile artists and enthusiastic walk-in guests.

As the first Graphic Design showcase presented in an outdoor art bazaar format, Quirktopia drew exciting public attention and created meaningful industry exposure for our students. We’re proud to share that several agencies and design studios have already reached out for potential collaborations and career opportunities ✨

A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, industry partners, The Awegallery PJ for the venue facilities, and Dasein Academy of Art for your continuous support and trust! To our creative team, lecturers, staff, industry guests, and every single visitor. Your presence, encouragement, and energy made this showcase a truly meaningful platform for our students! 🎊

In honour of collaboration with The HONOR Talents Device Library Project, HONOR devices were successfully assigned to selected students based on their academic needs and project requirements.

By making shared technology more valuable, the program not only expands access for high-potential students who face digital barriers but also promotes responsible use, accountability, and sustainability through clear training and borrowing guidelines.

Thank you HONOR for this opportunity and support throughout our students learning journey ✨

In collaboration with CelcomDigi, our students were challenged to design Chinese New Year Angpau packets inspired by festive traditions and the meaningful stories behind them.

We are proud to share that 3 out of the 4 winning designs were created by our students:

✨ Tan Qi Kee – Grandma’s Hands, New Year’s Blessings
A heartwarming moment of grandmother and granddaughter preparing together for the festive season.

✨ Chong Soon Chin – A Little New Year Memory
Capturing the joyful tradition of opening the prawn cracker tin with cousins.

✨ Chan Zi Ying – Happy Moments for Children
A playful childhood memory of counting ang paos under the blanket like a little secret mission, capturing the excitement, innocence, and simple joy of Chinese New Year through a child’s perspective.

This collaboration reflects how design connects culture, memory, and storytelling through real industry experience.
