Expected to just travel through Sri Lanka…..

Got welcomed instead.

Every moment we experienced turned into a warm memory because of the people.

What started as renting a scooter turned into a fresh coconut from their garden, sharing stories, and an invitation to the temple on Poya Day. Together we prepared offerings, prayed, and experienced their culture from a place of pure kindness.

That’s how Sri Lanka feels: Inviting, warm, and genuine.

How we handled a cyclone on the forecast.

During the shoot, there were heavy rains and clouds almost every day.

So what to do?
Adapt.

Shoot at sunrise.
Using the hours we had.
Working in-between weather windows.
And after the shoot, we went back out again to capture a sunset shot for the final delivery.

As an outdoor production company, you don’t control the conditions.
You work with them.

Experience matters in moments like this.

Knowing when to wait, when to move, and how to turn tough weather into images that speak, and invite people to book the journey themselves.

Every change starts with a first step…

𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀, 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻🚲

Our time with last summer was all about focus.

We were camping ourselves, working late into the night and waking up early at sunrise. After shooting for two days, we edited on location the day after, handing over our edits immediately.

Even though the shoot was fast-paced, our energy as a team never dropped.

On the second day, something intense and challenging happened (a moment we’ll share more about soon). Afterwards, we looked at each other and made a choice: not to let it hold us back. Instead, we turned it into fuel. Transforming that moment into momentum and creativity.

A team, full of drive and a shared passion for creating, that’s what pushes a project forward.

I still remember the first time I heard the story of Jane Goodall. She showed the world that science could coexist with patience, empathy and respect for all living beings. She listened to them, learned from them, and in doing so, reminded us of how deeply we are all connected. Her work is a reminder that, with compassion and persistence, we can truly change human behavior towards the planet we share.

You were such an inspiration for us all 💚🙏🏻

Being an observer and honering that what you see without wanting to change it. Is the most precious gift in my eye.

𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗻𝘁ã𝗼, 𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗷𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗔𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗮𝗻 🌿

In maart legden we deze magische plek vast op beeld.

Met Voja Travel ontdekten we het eiland door de ogen van de lokale bewoners. We werkten samen met lokale ondernemers die ons niet alleen bergpaden met indrukwekkende vergezichten en tropisch groene valleien lieten zien, maar ons ook meenamen in hun dagelijkse leven in dorpjes waar de tijd nog langzaam verstrijkt. Zo ontdekten we Santo Antão als reiziger, door de ogen van de mensen die er wonen.

Met als resultaat van deze inspirerende samenwerking o.a. deze fotografie-reeks.

Donderdag nemen we je in de video nóg dieper mee het eiland op, 11:00 online.
