Where’s the beef? At The Duke’s! The Duke’s has long been the go-to for Chiang Mai burger lovers…and the bacon cheeseburger is one of the many reasons why. Built on a house-made brioche bun, it starts with high quality imported Angus beef made into a perfectly sized patty that holds its moisture all the way through, giving you that almost-steak depth of flavour with a proper seared crust and a tender, juicy centre. Topped with a large streak of bacon and melted cheese, served alongside onion rings and hand-cut fries, and paired with a complimentary Coca-Cola — all for 265 baht (from now until the end of May). That’s not a meal deal. That’s just a very good burger at a very honest price. The Duke’s. Come hungry.

A sudden storm struck Wat Phra Chao Tho in Hod district yesterday afternoon, toppling a centuries-old tamarind tree onto the ancient “Sala Daeng” pavilion sheltering a 1,300-year-old reclining Buddha — an irreplaceable monument linked to Queen Chamadevi. Villagers and officials are now assessing damage and planning restoration.

Chiang Mai’s EV bus network is taking shape, as the PAO holds EV bus design workshop for the Nimman-Suan Dok corridoor — here’s what the stops could look like.

The PAO has presented three tiers of infrastructure:

A small shelter seating three to six passengers for key locations; a larger enclosed waiting station measuring six to nine metres with electrical systems, air filtration and digital signage for high-traffic points; and a standard adjustable bus stop sign that can be repositioned based on actual usage patterns.
Service standards outlined include a maximum 15-minute wait time, a real-time CCTV control room, a bus-tracking app and tap-to-pay fare payment...this is one of dozens upon dozens of proposals over the past many years.

Let’s not hold our breaths.

Way hey, and up she rises!

Excavator recovered from river after six months submerged. Officials have successfully retrieved an excavator that had been submerged beneath the Region 5 bridge since flooding more than six months ago. The salvage operation faced considerable challenges including strong currents, difficult conditions and logistical constraints, but teams persisted until the mission was completed. The operation was concluded by 3pm yesterday.
