Norwegian Tourist Briefly Mistakes Pattaya Beach for a N**e Resort

CHON BURI — Pattaya police were summoned in the early hours of Thursday morning after reports that a Norwegian tourist had decided clothing was optional while strolling along Pattaya Beach.

Officers arrived near Soi 13/3 in Nong Prue at around 1:00 a.m., responding to a call from a concerned member of the public. By the time police reached the scene, the man in question had sensibly put his clothes back on and was found sitting quietly on the sand, fully dressed and presumably reconsidering several life choices.

Police questioned the tourist and informed him — patiently — that wandering naked along a public beach is neither culturally acceptable nor appreciated by locals or other visitors.

A witness, 36-year-old Thapakorn Saengtawan, said he observed the man remove his clothing before entering the sea. After finishing his swim, the tourist reportedly exited the water and walked toward a nearby group of people on the beach, causing understandable concern.

According to the witness, the man then exposed himself briefly before returning to get dressed and heading back into the water, completing what can only be described as a poorly planned performance piece. He appeared to be intoxicated at the time.

“I wanted to warn him that this kind of behaviour is not acceptable, especially since there were many women in the area,” Mr Thapakorn said.

Police ultimately issued a formal warning and reminded the tourist to respect local customs and laws. He was then allowed to leave — clothed — bringing the incident to a merciful end.

There’s a new species roaming Pattaya.

Skinny lads in matching Under Armour sets.
Phone glued to the hand.
Eyes wide. Spine missing.

Always glued to a woman — not beside her, behind her.
She’s carrying the bags.
She’s ordering the food.
She’s translating, organising, protecting.

You’re not her partner.
You’re her responsibility.

This isn’t love.
This is supervised living.

You didn’t “find a strong woman.”
You hid behind one.

You came to Thailand pretending to be adventurous,
but without her you wouldn’t know where to eat, who to speak to, or how to cross the road.

She’s adapting to a foreign man-child.
You’re outsourcing adulthood.

And let’s be clear —
a woman being strong doesn’t make you strong by proximity.

If she disappeared tomorrow,
you’d be lost, hungry, anxious, and back on your phone asking strangers what to do next.

That’s not masculine.
That’s not romantic.
That’s not partnership.

That’s mothering.

Pattaya isn’t daycare.
And grown men shouldn’t need their hand held just to exist.

If this annoyed you — good.
It means you recognised yourself.

Grow up.
