Before We Give Up We Must Remember Why Our Dream Stayed Alive
Everyone carries different thoughts, desires and dreams through life. Some wishes return for years because they truly matter to us. That is why, before we think about giving up, we should first remember why that dream has remained alive in our thoughts for so long. Sometimes our desires are greater than what we can achieve alone at that moment. We may lack the financial means, experience, opportunities or a certain talent. That does not make the dream worthless. Nobody is perfect and nobody has to be capable of everything alone. With help, cooperation, knowledge and trust, a path may appear that we could not see before. Give Yourself a fair chance to achieve something on which You have set Your heart. When a genuine opportunity arises to begin, do not keep doubting endlessly. Examine it carefully and dare to take it when it feels reliable and suitable. A dream does not come closer while we only keep thinking about it. It begins to take shape when we truly take the first step. Once we begin, unexpected problems may arise. Plans can disappoint, agreements may not be honoured and someone may prove less reliable or capable than was promised beforehand. A chosen strategy may also fail to deliver the result we hoped for. Such setbacks do not have to mean the end. They may not require us to abandon the dream, but to choose a different approach, find better cooperation or replace someone who does not meet the necessary expectations. Obstacles can reveal what needs to improve and may lead us towards a safer, wiser and stronger way of continuing. When we stop after the first difficulties, we may end something that has given meaning to our future for a long time. That can place a heavy burden on our mental wellbeing. An unfulfilled dream can keep returning and leave us feeling that we never gave ourselves a complete chance. It is therefore important not to make a final decision from disappointment, exhaustion or fear. Anyone who has sincerely begun something valuable may search for every responsible possibility to bring it to a successful conclusion. This does not mean that we should continue blindly or ignore clear warnings. Perseverance is not recklessness. True perseverance means continuing to think, learn, check and change what does not work, without carelessly abandoning the deeper purpose that inspired us to begin. For almost every difficulty, a possible solution may exist, although it is not always immediately visible. It can take time to find the right knowledge, resources or people. Sometimes a plan must be rebuilt. Sometimes we must admit that an earlier choice was not right and choose a better direction without shame. A mistake does not have to destroy the dream when we are willing to learn from it. Giving up guarantees the loss of the opportunity, while continuing carefully keeps the possibility of success alive. That success may not always take exactly the form we first imagined. The road can change while the heart of the dream remains. Wisdom can be found in that difference. We do not have to hold stubbornly to every old step, but we can remain loyal to the reason we once began. Think carefully about what may still be possible, even when a solution requires more time than expected. Abandoning a vision because of setbacks can become a decision that remains in our thoughts for the rest of our lives. Keep searching, keep learning and remain open to people who can make a sincere and valuable contribution. Let the dream eventually remain in Your thoughts as a victory, not as something ended by fear or adversity. Patience does not solve everything by itself, but it gives us time to discover new possibilities. A quitter never can win and a winner never gives up, but keeps searching for a responsible way to make the dream come true.
