My new article on tea polyphenols is published on ESTA R&D website
What are polyphenols?
Polyphenols are micronutrients that naturally occur in plants and found in many plant-based foods like tea, persimmons, cacaos, grapes, red wine, and dark chocolate. In recent years, as scientific studies on the benefits of polyphenols to human health have increased, a very important reason for the consumption of foods and nutraceuticals has been shown to be their polyphenol content. All tea types, especially black, green, oolong, purple and white teas produced from the Camellia sinensis tea plant, have rich sources of polyphenols with nutraceutical properties.
