NASERIAN PROGRESS FOR WIDOWS . this is the information of general work done of NASERIAN Project NGO DEAL TO empowering widows and girl . The Maasai widows set up the groups of widows themselves to build the capacity of the widows to have awareness of their rights and to work with the wider community to realize their rights and peace and make their organization to be the best in the world. They have received training on : Human rights for women and girls; Daily reference Guide for women and girls; Development of women and FGM. 30 widows had training with a special ceremony in each of the three villages who sent representatives when they received their certificate at the end of the training. It was widely celebrated in the villages. Then those who had participated in the training shared this with their villages. They have a strong support network through their regular meetings and sharing of their stories. They have developed a strong sense of unity and they share their ideas with the whole community. Naserian is very well regarded by the community and each of the six villages in which Naserian is present, has given a gift of land to Naserian. Naserian has a microcredit project set up by the widows themselves and they own a flock of goats and sheep. A widow is given a female goat which is bred and the kids are given back to the flock except for one kid which the widowkeeps. She is thus able to gradually develop her own flock as well as provide extra milk for her children. We has provided training on Gender equality and Entrepreneurship for women and girls as well as Advancing Health and sexual Reproductive rights.and Hopeful to move forward much as we can . A number of widows went on behalf of Naserian to training about FGM to become trainers. They then organised their own travel to different villages to share this knowledge with other villages to make sureeveryone know that is not allowed to do FGM for girls. Widows have succeeded in sharing the training with other women to raise their capacity to obtain their rights. Naserian women look forward to sharing even more with other groups of women their experience in building their own talent and how they raised the capacity of the community. Ensuring economic and environmental justice Maasai widows have developed economic growth for the widows through the creation of the goat project. This is a good project for us as we are still learning how we can protect the goats as it is our part of pastoralism culture. We also went to training on How we can make Soap Liquid and candles. This Entrepreneurship for women project was very successful and we can see how the widows and their families are received the progressing of women . We has to expand our work in more area as villages and other place in around Arusha villages . Another project we would like to develop is our jewelry project – but we need some design and marketing help in this and this is our Goal.not achieve. We have Received Supported from Big Company from UK call THE LONG WELL WALK . TLWW support us last year for Water Project to Rain water Harvesting . And also we went to New York in UN WOMEN CSW 58 that the UN sent my project the Invitation to attend to the conference of CSW 58 so we attende 3 people from My project from arusha and it was wonderful the conference and it was the first time for us to attended to UN WOMEN in CSW .
