: Tanzania-based fintech, NALA, has announced a partnership with Cellulant to power remittance payments from the UK and the US, into Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania & Ghana.

The partnership aims to reduce the cost of sending money from the UK and the US into Africa.

Transaction fees absorb a large percentage of the billions sent to Africa every year.

The cost of sending money to Africa is the highest across all regions.

Tanzania and Kenya remain the highest with charges at 17% and 21% respectively for every $200 sent.

President Uhuru Kenyatta declares a 12% increase in Kenya's minimum wage.

This directive goes into effect this Sunday, May 1st, 2022.

The minimum wage currently stands at KES 13,570 per month.

The new increase brings the minimum wage to about KES 15,200.
