Many runners pay great attention to the correct selection of shoes, as it is believed that the right shoes reduce the risk of injury. In pursuit of increasing sales, manufacturers are constantly competing, offering more and more new models of specialized shoes for runners. However, research data that studies the relationship between a specific “correct” shoe model and the risk of injury are contradictory and do not reveal such a relationship. Therefore, at present, the concept of a “comfort filter” has developed, according to which an athlete intuitively chooses shoes in which he is most comfortable, and the concept of this convenience is strictly individual. Comfort in the implementation of movements allows you to build an "optimal trajectory of movement" and thereby reduce the risk of injury. But, of course, there is no magic universal recipe for the best running shoes (Nigg B.M., et al., 2015).
