Summers in Las Vegas are hot. Midday flying is out of the question, but Antonina Shevchenko was determined to earn her pilot certificates and ratings—no summers off. https://bit.ly/3Ff8wVC

Task 6 Super Final, Valle de Bravo, Mexico

Today there was more humidity than on previous days which created more clouds. A 94 km task taking the pilots south and then to a goal below take off was set.
It was a fast task and finding the convergence was the key that made all the difference.

Strong conditions under the convergence meant that the pilots could fly almost without turning. This made the first turnpoint and back to the ‘g spot’ nice and easy.
Here some pilots tried different routes but didn’t really succeed.

The average speed of the leaders was more than 40km/h, the second gaggle unfortunately got stuck in a weak thermal in front of the last turnpoint and lost around 20 minutes to the leaders.

The final glide to the ESS was a fast a furious dash with Maxime Pinot taking a more direct line which paid off and gave him his 11th World Cup task win.

Tomorrow is a well-earned rest day for everyone – see you all again on Wednesday.

Top 3 in the task
1: Maxime PINOT (Enzo 3 / Submarine)
2: Baptiste LAMBERT (Enzo 3 / Submarine)
3: Ivan HAAS
3: Thibault VOGLET

Top 3 ladies in the task
1: Yael MARGELISCH (Enzo 3 / Submarine)
2: Constance METTETAL
3: Seiko FUKUOKA NAVILLE (Enzo 3)

After 6 tasks, Philipp Haag is leading the race followed by Honorin Hamard and Baptiste Lambert. All flying Enzo 3s and Submarines.
