Rome has an ancient garbage dump in disguise. Monte Testaccio is 35 meters tall and takes up 580,000 cubic meters. It is mostly composed of fragments of ancient Roman pottery. Today it is covered in grass.
Rome has been a major center of Classical, Romanesque, Renaissance, Baroque, and Neoclassical architecture. The arch, vault, and dome were mastered in Rome.
