Everyone knows that women can also participate in Formula 1 races, and on an equal footing with men. In the history of the championship, there have been only five women who have competed in at least one Grand Prix, with only two of them qualifying and finishing the race. So the first and so far the only woman to score points in the Formula 1 World Championship in 1975 is the Italian Lella Lombardi. The date of the beginning of the history of motor sports can be called 1894. At the end of 1893 (December 19), the publisher of the Parisian newspaper Le Petit Journal, Pierre Giffard, announced the first automobile race (before that, in 1887, there was a competition for “carriages moving without assistance” with one single participant). Her launch was scheduled for July 22, 1894. The participating "horseless carriages" had to cover the 126 km distance from Paris to Rouen in less than eight and a half hours. The criterion for victory was rather vague: the first prize of 5,000 francs was to go to the crew that demonstrated "the best combination of safety, economy and ease of handling." Initially, 102 applicants with a wide variety of designs, including cars powered by steam, kerosene, gasoline and electricity[1], applied for participation. An interesting fact is that the representative of the Russian Empire, Pyotr Klimentievich Engelmeyer, who at that time worked as a teacher at the Imperial Moscow Technical School, was on the technical commission of the race.
