Founded in the 12th century, the historic district of Warsaw. It is a popular place among tourists. After World War II, most of the Old Town's buildings were rebuilt from photographs and surviving blueprints, for which it has been added to the UNESCO list. The oldest surviving buildings are the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and the Barbican of Warsaw. The center of the old city is the Market Square. Today it has many cafes, stores and souvenir shops.
