The Poltava Art Museum's collection is based on a gift to the city from the Itinerant artist N.A. Yaroshenko, who arrived in Poltava in 1917. It included 100 paintings and 23 working albums of the artist himself, as well as a significant number of works by friends and colleagues of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions, in particular, I. Shishkin, V. Polenov, V. Makovsky, I. Repin, V. Maximov and others.

Poltava Holy Cross Nunnery is one of the few in Ukraine with a seven-domed cathedral in the Ukrainian Baroque style. A 47-meter bell tower in the late baroque style stands next to the temple. The monastery was founded in 1650 as a men's monastery. It is interesting that during the Great Northern War the headquarters of Charles XII was located there.

St. Assumption Cathedral is the main temple on the territory of Poltava fortress. It took 22 years to build, from 1748 to 1770. The construction was led by architect S. Stabansky. The cathedral was completely destroyed in 1934, and in 2000-2004 it was rebuilt.

Most recently, in May 2016, a monument to Ivan Mazepa was unveiled near the Cathedral of the Assumption in Poltava. This is the first full-fledged monument to the legendary hetman in Ukraine. It's interesting that the money for the monument was collected by ordinary people. The bronze Mazepa together with the pedestal is 7 meters high.

Museum Estate of Ivan Kotlyarevsky is a memorial complex in Poltava, created on the basis of the estate, where Ivan Petrovich Kotlyarevsky was born in 1769. The complex is located near the Cathedral of the Assumption. The estate is included in the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine as a monument of national importance.
