Epic Tofu. Packaging as a Driver of Brand Growth and Value
Goal was not just a visual refresh, but to create packaging that stands out in a crowded category, makes a plant-based product emotionally appealing, scales across SKUs, and supports long-term brand growth.
Objectives:
• Systematize the idea of flat graphic characters interacting with the product
• Create a character for the first SKU based on the client’s reference
• Build a cohesive, scalable visual system
• Ensure clarity, appetite appeal, and shelf impact
Starting from a single idea and reference, I built the core visual DNA of the brand: a clear hierarchy (character - product - flavor), refined product visuals for stronger appetite appeal, and developed the full character lineup aligned with the approved concept and brief.
I turned a fragmented idea into a scalable packaging system, using characters as a communication tool, while balancing emotion, product clarity, and commercial performance.
The packaging won an industry award, received strong retailer and customer feedback, and the brand was later acquired by another company. According to the client, branding and marketing were a key driver of the deal.
This project shows how packaging becomes a growth and valuation asset.
