Bernardo Silva could be set for a new chapter in Spain

With his Manchester City contract expiring at the end of June, Barcelona are reportedly unwilling to match the financial offers on the table, leaving Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in the race for the 31-year-old Portuguese midfielder.

Real Madrid are believed to be leading the chase, with advanced talks already underway over personal terms. (Multiple Sources)

‎Four Remanded Over Murder of Sydney Gongodyo

‎Four men have been remanded to Luzira Prison in connection with the murder of Uganda Rugby Cranes player Sydney Gyabi Gongodyo.

‎The suspects are Obed Mugwisa, 39, Elly Mondoni, 33, Joseph Owino, 30, and Henry Kabugo, 21. They appeared before Senior Grade One Magistrate Edgar Karakire at City Hall Court in Kampala and were charged with murder.

‎The offence is alleged to have occurred on June 5, 2026, at Upper Naguru East Road. According to the charge sheet under Kira Road Police Station CRB 619/2026, the accused are charged with Murder contrary to Sections 171 and 172 of the Penal Code Act, cap 128. The court did not allow them to plead because the case is capital in nature and can only be tried by the High Court.

‎Prosecution led by Grace Akite said investigations are ongoing and other suspects remain at large.

‎ The magistrate remanded the accused until June 23 for mention and an update on investigations.

‎Police say preliminary findings indicate Gongodyo was allegedly attacked during mob action after being accused of snatching a woman’s handbag. He later died at Mulago National Referral Hospital after being rushed for treatment. Initially, ten suspects were arrested, but only four have so far been brought to court. (By URN)
