EARS Joins Forces in the Fight Against Plastic Pollution in the Nile Basin:

EARS is proud to collaborate with the Nile Basin Media Network (NBMN), MiCT, GIZ, and others to empower journalists from 10 Nile basin countries in addressing the pressing issue of plastic pollution.
Over 30 journalists gathered in Kampala for a five-day workshop to deepen their understanding of plastic pollution’s impact on the environment and public health. Through field visits and citizen science, they are now equipped to bring these critical stories to light and influence change.
As Dr. Florence Grace Adongo, Executive Director of NBI, said, "Journalists play a crucial role in shaping public opinion and informing policy debates."
We believe that through cross-border collaboration, the media can drive impactful solutions to this transboundary crisis.

WHY RADIO, WHY EARS

Radio is the most effective media in Uganda

Each and every day, Ugandans choose one of almost 300 Radios for information, news, announcements, and entertainment. Over 30 million Ugandans tune in regularly, making Radio the most frequently used medium in the country.

EARS aggregates the largest audiences

Our objective is to bundle many radio stations across the country. From a community listening to local radio hub upcountry up to the audiences of big radio stations in the area of Kampala, with EARS almost the entire population can be reached easily. We are reliable: we promise daily monitoring of audio spots by IPSOS. It‘s our objective to improve standards and quality of research and monitoring in radio advertising in Africa.
