Dear Rotaractors and Rotarians of Zone 22 Africa,

As we embark on this new Rotary year starting July 1st, I extend warm greetings and best wishes to each of you. Our theme for this year, "The Magic of Rotary," captures the transformative power of our collective efforts.

Let us harness this magic to inspire hope, create positive change, and make a lasting impact in our communities. I encourage each of you to support and grow alongside one another, fostering a spirit of unity, collaboration, and friendship that defines our Rotaract family.

As the great leader, Kofi Annan, once said: "Young people are the torchbearers of the future, and it is our responsibility to ensure that they are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and values to lead the charge toward a better world."

I want to sincerely thank the outgoing Rotaract Africa Executive, led by President Constance, for their dedication and tireless efforts in serving our region. Your contributions have made a significant impact, and we are grateful for your leadership.

Additionally, I congratulate our dedicated District Rotaract Representative (DRR), Hope Creator, on a successful year. Your commitment to our cause is truly admirable.

I invite you all to participate in the upcoming Zone Institute in Mauritius, where we will come together to share ideas, learn from each other, and strengthen our bonds.

Most importantly, I extend a special invitation to the Rotaract Africa Summit 2024 in Uganda, which will take place from November 14 to 16, 2024, at the Las Vegas Gardens Hotel in Bunga Kampala. It promises to be an unforgettable event, and I look forward to seeing you all there.

The Rotaract Africa Executive team is eager to support and work with all Rotaract leaders across our 20 districts in Africa. We are committed to growing together, sharing best practices, and enhancing our impact in our communities. Let us embrace the magic of Rotary and make this year truly unforgettable!

Warm regards,

PDRR Allan M. Ntambi L

One aspect of Rotary that makes it so unique is the annual change in leadership. It seems like we’ve only just arrived…….and its already time to leave.

This has been a great year of Serving to change lives and we have really seen the Change and now it’s time to Imagine! With DRR Sarah Owembabazi leading our 107 clubs, the result will be nothing short of brilliance, excellence and success!

Leatitia and I do not know where to begin in thanking each and every one of you for the honor of being your District Rotaract representative and First Lady. Actually, for me, I do know where to begin. First by thanking God for leading me to an organization where I have been able to not only polish myself but to also do "Good" in the World where other groups have only found closed doors. I also give thanks to him for giving me the courage and conviction to step forward and undertake the road to being your District Rotaract Represeantive when at the time, it was to be done alone.

Along the road leading to being your DRR, a fine pulchritude came into my life and we both not only fell in love with each other, but she also fell in love with Rotary. She has been a partner that has been invaluable to me in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position. Leatitia was "God sent" to me.

I served along a fine gentleman with whom we shared experiences and I always tapped into his knowledge and passion for Rotary, him and his wife they always welcomed me into their home, a very loving and gentle family yet full of wisdom, thank you Governor John and first lady Barbara.

To you my change marker district officers, I owe all the success of this year to you all, I truly thank you for leading with me, you gave your all we all exceled, thank you.

My club the Rotaract club of Kampala Central (ROCK) thank you for granting me the opportunity to represent you in the top most Rotaract office, I owe you! In a special way I want to thank Past President Patricia Nagadya who invited me to Join the club when she was president and of course my past President Fatuma Nalubowa Semujju in whose year I was nominated as DRR candidate, Thank you.

The Rotary club of Kampala central ensured that am comfortable as DRR, in a special way I would like to thank Past President Patrick Kunobwa, my super president and friend Sheila Naturinda and change maker president Flavia Nabaasa, thank you for walking with me this journey.

To you my RC Kajjansi Family, you begun the good work in me, and we have surely made it.

The experiences we have shared, the people we have met and the knowledge of Rotary and the communities we have visited will forever be a "close to the heart" memory.

Many times the question has been asked of me: "What is being a District Rotaract Representative like?" "It has been wonderful," is always my response. Accepting the position of being in the founding DRR of this new and yet great district is the best decision I have ever made in my life as a volunteer. I encourage every Rotaractor to serve as an officer in their respective clubs, every officer to be a club president, every president to assist at the District level.

We have planted seeds, both literally and figuratively, we have touched lives, we have contributed to the foundation and indeed we have had over 12 Rotaract Clubs qualify to participate in grants and am glad to inform you all that these clubs will receive these grants by August, let’s imagine the good things about to happen.

This year’s emphasis has been on service. Rotaractors donated thousands upon thousands of volunteer hours this year and raised thousands and thousands of dollars for our local projects. The Power of Rotary is solidly rooted in our clubs. I am in awe of the diligence and hard work of so many Rotaractors from our district.

In Rotary, we are surrounded by inspiration – because that’s what we do. We find problems and we overcome. We smile as we do it, we are humble, we are happy to give of our time, talent and treasure. We are committed to changing lives, we are people of action, we change lives!

Thank you for this great and inspiring opportunity to serve. I have so many memories and experiences in my heart. Thank you for sharing and making your Rotary world a part of mine.
In closing, I thank you all for the honor to serve and encourage each one of you to continue to "Be the Inspiration" to your clubs and communities

God Bless D9213, Long Live Rotary, Let’s grow Rotaract!

My fellow change makers and friends of Rotary district 9213, I bring you greetings at the commencement of this new Rotary year. A Rotary year in which our President Shekher Mehta has used as his theme “Serve to Change Lives”. It’s quite a prophetic theme! There’s quite a lot before us to do right now through the extraordinary circumstances in which we are living. So through every challenge comes an opportunity for service.
I would like to take this opportunity to say Thank You most sincerely to Immediate Past DRR Edmund and the entire team of 2020/2021 you all have done an outstanding job and have led our District 9211 and delivered District 9213 and 9214 in the most extraordinary times, I cannot say thank you enough. Our team 2021-22 will build on your successes and I hope we’ll have many of our own.

In this year 2021-22, the number one challenge is retaining members. COVID-19 is still presenting a major challenge to us, so let us lose not members because of COVID 19. Of course, natural attrition is unavoidable but let us lose no members, they are our family. We are FAMILY! Rotary, Rotaract, Interact, we are family. So let us make every effort to ensure that we lose nobody because of this pandemic.

In District 9213 we have a number of opportunities that we're going to explore in the coming year, and we are going to Grow More and Serve More as our Rotary International President Shekher has asked us to do by looking at new club models, looking at how we support Clubs and also grow and nurture our relationship with Rotarians into a better family of Rotary, we all are members of Rotary, We need even to explore more club diversities because we must recognize that Rotary has to change in order for our membership to grow.

Fellow Rotaractors we will support the End Polio Now campaign. You have seen how much the infrastructure that the Polio Plus campaign has been used in the fight against COVID- 19. We will support our communities in the COVID-19 recovery; many young people have gotten mental illness because of the effects of this pandemic and we need to support them.

My friends we have a call from Governor John, to support Maternal and Child Health, Invite all of us to work with our sponsor Clubs to support this cause, in addition to that we've added a new committee this year to look ROAD USER SAFETY. We will also roll out a program slightly tailored because of COVID-19 to prevent MENTAL ILLNESS caused by the effects of COVID-19 in our district, that scourge that is causing the proliferation of non- communicable diseases throughout the district.
So, friends I thank you for your engagement to date and I thank you for your commitment to the future as we Serve to Change Lives; to grow Rotary, to grow ourselves. Let us have a wonderful fun year as we Develop ourselves while doing awesome projects together.
God bless you.
