Uganda has reported the highest new daily Covid cases (201) since March when the coronavirus outbreak was declared in the country. The Ministry of Health update indicates that 201 new cases were registered on Tuesday compared to 124 on Monday.

Hon Tayebwa Thomas was yesterday found by a Umeme subcontractor worker on direct supply (ILLEGALLY ELECTRICITY CONNECTED) at one of his sites on Busabala road. The boy was doing a follow up because he had disconnected the Hon before on 21 of August. Tayebwa instead arrested the Umeme worker and instructed his driver to un dress him and started beating him thoroughly kumbe the boy was recording him as you can see from the video.

Tayebwa had been disconnected on several occasions but adamantly/ stubbornly reconnected himself dubiously.

Something has to be done by Umeme to streamline and senstize its customers about these subcontractor workers. I have seen many of them being manhandled yet they are on official duties of the company. They never get compensated and neither do they get justice.

This is not how leaders behave..

Saturday 29th August Declared Public Holiday and Day of National Prayer By H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni

A certain Ugandan came to me and told me that God had told him in a vision that I should organise National Prayers, scientifically organised, for God to deliver us from COVID 19.

Therefore, by the powers given to the President of Uganda by Section 2(2) of the Public Holidays Act, I declare the 29th of August 2020, a day of National Prayers and a Public Holiday. Stay in your houses or Compounds and pray.

I have invited a few religious leaders to come to Entebbe State House and pray together with Janet and myself when you are all watching on TV or listening on Radios.

I appeal to all Ugandans to join this massive act of supplication “Mushabe, muryaheebwa, musherure, muryazoora”, I remember from our priests at Kyamate in 1950s.

This is in the Book of Matthew chapter 7 verse 7. In English it says: “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

UPDATE. has registered 155 new COVID-19 cases from tests done on August 26, 2020. Two new deaths have also been registered, pushing toll to 28. Cumulative confirmed cases now stand at 2,679.
