*PHOTOS*: The NRM Secretary-General, Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, has this morning arrived at the Nwoya District headquarters, in Anaka Town Council, where he is expected to address a stakeholders meeting comprised of district leaders, head teachers, and PTA Chairpersons of all schools in the district. 

The purpose of the meeting is to draw up strategies on how to tackle and improve the standard of education in the area.

While Concluding his three-day tour across the West Nile sub-region, President met Members of the Westnile Press Association. He urged them to continuously sensitize people on Wealth creation & improve household incomes.
 
The two bottlenecks that are the root causes of poverty among the people are lack of sensitization by leaders to members of their communities on how to create wealth & land fragmentation.

has begun his three-day tour of West Nile as he met leaders of the sub-region at Arua city golf course where various issues to do with wealth creation and economic empowerment were discussed.

Museveni said his government has declared a protracted war on fighting poverty through the parish development model and it is the very reason behind his regional tours across the country.

“The purpose of this trip is to concentrate on the issue of the wealth for the homesteads. I have been in this struggle for the last 60 years. I started in my area in Ankole. The problem I saw when I was growing up in Ntungamo was that our part of the country was very rich with good soils, banana plantations and cows but people had no money,” Museveni said.

President Museveni who today kick-started his tour of West Nile sub-region, has praised Mr. Aliamoi Swaib and his family for religiously following his advice of adopting modern commercial and calculated farming that has propelled him into the money economy. The President described the progressive farmer as his co-teacher who listens and does what he is taught.

“I am very happy to be here with the Vice President and the Prime Minister to see the coming true of our Gospel, because this is what I have been telling Ugandans. I want to thank the family of Aliamoi. They are the Simons and Peters who followed the Gospel. Jesus said, you follow me, and we create a new world. Some believed, others did not believe,” he observed.

Mr. Aliamoi Swaib is one of the model farmers who has invested in growing cassava, oranges and rearing of goats on a 53-acre piece of land in Abario Cell - Rhino Camp Town Council.
