We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Screen Printer to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for producing high-quality, visually appealing prints on a variety of surfaces using screen printing techniques. This role requires a strong understanding of the screen printing process, a keen eye for color accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain screen printing equipment, including setting up screens, preparing inks, and adjusting machinery settings to ensure optimal print quality.
Collaborate with designers and production team members to review artwork, select appropriate screens, and determine color separations for each print job.
Mix and match inks to achieve desired colors and shades, ensuring color consistency throughout the print run.
Prepare printing surfaces by applying emulsion and exposing screens using photo-sensitive techniques.
Load and align printing screens onto printing machines, ensuring accurate registration for multi-color designs.
Monitor and adjust printing settings during production runs to maintain consistent ink flow, proper coverage, and sharp image definition.
Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise during the printing process, such as ink inconsistencies, registration errors, and equipment malfunctions.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including regular cleaning of screens, equipment, and tools to prevent ink buildup and contamination.
Inspect printed products for quality and accuracy, making necessary adjustments as needed to meet quality standards.
Maintain production records, including print counts, job details, and any relevant notes.
Assist in the training of new team members on screen printing techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training or certification in screen printing is a plus.
Proven experience as a Screen Printer, demonstrating a strong understanding of the screen printing process and equipment.
Proficiency in color mixing and matching to achieve accurate and consistent colors.
Ability to read and interpret artwork, color separations, and job instructions.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality prints.
Solid troubleshooting skills to identify and address printing issues in a timely manner.
Familiarity with different types of inks, substrates, and printing techniques.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy screens, and perform repetitive tasks.
Knowledge of safety protocols related to screen printing equipment and materials.
Flexibility to work flexible hours and overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.
