I’ve been very lucky. Photography has brought me to so many places and introduced me to so many wonderful people. One of the things I appreciate most is seeing the kindness, generosity, and genuine support that people show for one another at the events I have the opportunity to photograph.
Most recently, I had the privilege of documenting a ceremony at the Massachusetts State House honoring Brigadier General Enoch “Woody” Woodhouse as he was appointed Emeritus Chair of the Hanscom Federal Credit Union Charitable Foundation.
Woody is one of the last surviving Tuskegee Airmen of World War II. Even after everything he's been through, this amazing man is truly one of the warmest and friendliest people you could ever meet. At 99, he continues to travel the world, meet people, give talks, and share his remarkable life stories — openly and candidly, without a script. His stories speak to the many obstacles he faced and overcame, and to his determination to do what he felt needed to be done.
It was a pleasure to spend time with this kind gentleman again, listen to his fascinating stories, and capture his brilliant smile as he interacted with everyone around him!
