THE CAUSE:
The Coalition now operates the two largest outreach programs in the community:
Supplies for Success (Formerly Give a Kid A Chance) - Provides 2200+ children with a backpack full of supplies to prepare them for the school year, Love t-shirts, books, haircuts and health screenings, toiletry items and more. Hope for Christmas - Provides 2400+ children and their families with toys, books,
winter wear, and a full meal for Christmas. Cartersville and Bartow County Schools - Provides supplies for Needs Closets in all High Schools and meeting on demand needs in all schools. RISE (Advocates for Children) - Providing needs for 18-24 year old's entering their first apartment including toiletries, household cleaning products, and basic needs like bedding, pots and pans, etc. Serve Saturday - The Coalition partners each month with the Bookmobile, Red Door Food Pantry, Allatoona Resource Center, multiple churches, and many others to provide products and assistance to their programs and those they serve in the Allatoona area. The Coalition is unique in supporting the idea of collaboration among all facets of the community: working with churches of all denominations, businesses, civic organizations, other non-profits, and individuals towards one main goal; serve those in need. We know that we must meet the community where they are, understand the needs that exist, and work to fill those gaps to meet the needs of the impoverished. We are working to support and expand existing efforts, and build new programs as we become more in tune with those we serve. While so many churches, businesses and other non-profits were providing valuable resources to those in need, the Coalition leadership knew a coordination of those resources would make an even larger impact. With those values and ideas, the Coalition was launched to expand the already existing service functions within this region with a mantra of "together we can do so much more.”
