right now i'll just say i'm talking to some really smart and experienced company owners that have an amazing idea, and are building around that idea.

... and if things become what i think, i'll be launching a new company/business with a couple friends.

... we're talking july'ish .. maybe later probably not earlier.

... it's in a trending category, yet unique

... i'm becoming a better internet marketer!

... because of the training in my MAP members area

I'm a lifetime platinum member ... BUT ... the core of the training i'm taking now is the exact same training that all free members get

First i went through the list building module ... and now I've started the email marketing module

... i have particular interest in these areas because I've been a list builder and an email marketer all of my networking career .. about 25 years full time.

At one point i had about 30,000 or so networkers of varying levels ... beginner to expert

I got away from it for a few years so that's not the case now ... now I'm rebuilding

But i still have a list of around 2500 highly responsive people and i get a very high open rate.

Because I've created relationships with these people ... we know each other though my email marketing and they trust me.

... and that's why when i launch something new, i can get 20 - 30 or more signups from one email send

... and on average 75 - 150 over a couple week or a month long campaign ... depending of course what I'm promoting.

The point of the email is that I'm polishing my skills, adding to my existing skills, and becoming better, more efficient, and more organized .... because of the training.

Lots of people might jump straight to the traffic training ... or the social media marketing training ... and I'm for sure looking forward to that as well.

And ... once again ... much of it is the exact same training that free members get.

The best way to form a working relationship with a new prospect or a new lead is to speak with them about business, regularly and often.

If you only had one prospect, or just a handful of prospects you could easily do that through a multitude of platforms ... like messenger for example.

The best way I know of to communicate with more than a handful of leads is through email.

Lead magnets and funnels are the perfect way to gather your leads, and to segment them into lists based upon their journey through your funnel.

A series of emails are designed to encourage the recipient to not only stay active on the list, but also to follow along. Hopefully right to the end.

This is often done with educational content but can also include humor, wit, interesting stories, or anything else that may hold their attention.

Content that will help the subscribers become better networkers is always a safe bet.

Sunday Gurney'isms

The greatest thing about network marketing is how many different ways there are to do it. Internet marketing, social media marketing, and email marketing are just 3 of those.

For the struggling networker it often helps to expand your skillsets.

I know a lot of people are stuck on facebook .. and maybe instagram too. Posting feverishly about their company and including the link in every post, and yet getting no results.

I know I seldom got results when I did that.

There are exceptions of course.

Leaders and influencers who have branded their name, are well known by others in the industry, and that have a big following, are often able to get results marketing this way and for some that's all they do.

Congrats to them and respect too, but one of the problems I see is those people teaching their "unknown" team members that's the way and the only way "because it works for me so it has to work for you".

So those followers are running themselves ragged with nothing to show, and doing it so much and so often they are not taking the time to broaden themselves and learn other techniques.

There's a lot to be said for learning some automation that's working in the background at the same time.

I've never marketed in this way ... posting "here's my link join my business" in all it's variations. After a while it all becomes a blurry mix of the same.

This is what I think ... one of the most powerful and "good to know" marketing methods is email marketing.

I can lose my facebook account, and all my contacts, at any given second. In fact I have, just a short year and a half ago.

Don't think it can't happen to you, and if you are entirely dependent on your facebook list of friends and followers, where does that leave you?

Are you out of business for a while?

The ironic thing about this happening to me ... it was about the same time LiveGood launched global.

Facebook account and pages and all friends and followers gone ... just gone ... just like that ... in a split second.

And still I ROCKED my business.

Because I had an email list of networkers that i built years before.

So ... unlike my facebook account going "p**f gone" right before my very eyes, that will never happen with my email list ... it's backed up on the cloud ... in fact on more than one cloud :)

I'm getting back into email and internet marketing again.

... things are a little different today ... techniques a little different ... mainly because of the spam laws in effect now ...

but ... still a highly viable and effective skill to have.

... no idea if i can do it now like it i did it then

... we'll see

I think I might continue sharing about this as I go.

BTW ... the content of this message is simply my opinion.

Internet marketing is a learned skill ... and once you have that skill you'll have it forever. Nobody can take it away.

There are a lot of moving parts, and yes there is a learning curve, but i think just about everyone who takes the time to learn it, will say they are glad they did.

Years ago, when i first started, it was more cumbersome than it is today. We had to get these "moving parts" at all different websites and platforms. And each one cost as much or more than what we pay today for the all-in-one solutions.

So it's easier today, and more affordable. I'll add that it's also more convenient and effective. As technology evolves the webmasters and program owners find better easier ways.

A handful of your friends are seeing your facebook posts ... day after day after day. This could go on for the rest of your life sorry to say.

Some people can do well posting on facebook. They are influencers with a big following of network marketers.

But for the rest of us it's a sad affair.

Some people also do really well with messenger going into marketing groups and then having a private conversation with some of the members of the group. They are good at it, they like it, and it works for them.

But to also have the marketing skills to gather a whole new group of people to talk to, and build a list of those people that you can follow up with and drip content on, that skill can go a long long way.

Something to think about.

Desperately posting on facebook day in and day out with no results will drive you to the funny farm.

Just sayin 🙂

Note: I am not in any way suggesting anyone stops posting. Absolutely not. Your people have to know you are determined, in it to win it, and staying put until you do.

I'm only suggesting there are skillsets you can add

... imported and edited and customized to make mine, 6 viral lead magnet marketing funnels

... tweaking the reports and guides

... testing no less than 7 different traffic sources ... some of those have multiple internal platforms .... and ready to grab a couple more right now

... tracking links

... and writing like a madman ... email follow up series for each funnel, relaunching the blog, writing ads

... and literally just getting started

... got that fever again ... breaking out my old list building chops
... to me this is fun ... watching stats, seeing how many hits i can get to my pages, how many optins

.. following one of the best ... he got me motivated ... i thought now wait a second here ... i used to do all this stuff doggonit
... what's up with that 🙂

slowly getting organized and sorted

... no idea where or how far this will go, but will never know without trying

.. a content creator, one who creates their own material, begins building their own brand doing it. Any kind of content will get you started until you find your groove

oh and by the way? ... a content creator, and a content copier are two very different things.

sure ... curating works ... if done right

tell your audience what you are doing, or make it your own

copy and paste posters .... ahhh, not so much

A bit on marketing funnels ...

... first ... a person can join a built-for-you funnel system ... or they can easily learn how to build their own.

There are advantages to both i suppose. The advantage of buying into a built-for-you funnel system ... is that it's built for you

... but you don't really learn anything, and can be quite expensive.

additionally, often times people that buy into a built-for-you system still don't really understand what's going on, so they lose interest and don't use it for any length of time ... essentially wasting their money.

... and nobody likes to waste their money ... am i right?

It's not that difficult to build your own, and certainly has it's advantages ...
.. and probably the main one is what you learn.

This acquired skillset can benefit you greatly over a lifetime. And although more time consuming in the beginning, and does require some brain power, it's far less expensive, especially in the long run.

In other words, there's a learning curve involved, but well worth it.

... a lot of people don't even know what a marketing funnel is, or how it's used, or why it's used.

A funnel could be described as a process, or a journey, an interested or curious person goes through to learn more about what you are offering.

They may have seen an ad with just enough information to pique their interest. So they ask for more info.

Or ... they may be accepting an offer from you, usually free, that they may see some value in.

.. some call this a lead magnet, which is the first step.

The funnel will have multiple step or stages, ... a journey this person can travel and go as deep as they want, or simply walk away from if they want, at any point in the journey.

These stages will include awareness of a product, education of a product, and hopefully assurance that the product is a good and safe thing worth purchasing.

The funnel owner's job is to make the journey an easy and pleasant one, while swiftly moving the person through these stages of the funnel.

But the shining star of it all is keeping the person as a contact regardless if they buy now or not.

... so now you can continue a conversation with them ... and continue offering value to them, as you establish a relationship of trust that you are delivering good content and good products.

So ... if you didn't know what a marketing funnel was, now you do.

... and i would highly encourage you to learn the skills from creating your own pages and funnel.

You just can't beat knowing how to do stuff that will pay you over and over, as opposed to paying someone else to host your system.
