We have worked on over 200 airway conscious practice websites in the last few years year. Most of them did not look any different to Google than the family practice down the street when we started on them.

All of those providers had the training and clinical “chops” to handle the treatments. But Google was not reading their training. It was reading their website.

What are your patients actually typing into Google at 11pm?

Not "palatal expansion." Not "myofunctional therapy."

They are typing: why is my child so tired, why does my husband stop breathing at night, why do I wake up with headaches every morning.

Start there. Build your content around their suffering, not your specialty. The patients who need you most will find you.

A clinician said something to me last year that I have not stopped thinking about.

"We are selling Birkin bags in a world where no one's heard of Hermès."

He was not talking about his patients. He was describing something specific. The gap between the care he delivers and what anyone on the outside is able to see.

The training is real. The outcomes are real. The brand does not show it.

That is the Birkin Bag Problem. And it shows up in practices at every level.

The clinician has outgrown the brand without anyone noticing. The right patients either cannot find the practice or cannot recognize it for what it is when they do.

The fix is not more visibility. It is alignment between who you are and what the market sees.

The identity gap.
On one side: your clinical airway conscious work.

On the other: what Google says you do when a parent searches for airway help at two in the morning.

Almost every airway conscious practice we have worked with over the last eight years has some version of this gap. Most do not know it is there.

The interest graph is replacing the social graph. Someone with 50 million followers can now lose to someone with 800 who posts something real.

The old model rewarded reach. More followers. More visibility. More ad spend.

That model favored DSOs with corporate budgets and template content.

The new model rewards relevance, clarity, and interest.

That means you tell the truth about your practice. And the algorithms do the rest.

A DSO posting template content to 50,000 followers can lose to you with 800 followers who posts something that actually reflects who you help and how.

You don’t need more followers. You need to be understood.

That’s positioning. And it works.

That mom scrolling for airway answers at 2 AM doesn't start with Google anymore. She starts with AI.

And AI has already made up its mind about you before she even asks.
Here's the part that keeps me up at night. After AI gives her its answer, she doesn't stop there. She checks everything. Your website. Your Instagram. Your Google listing. A video of you talking. AI taught her what a qualified airway provider looks like. Now she's holding you up against that.

And if what she finds doesn't match what AI told her to look for, she has a trust problem. With you. Not because you aren't qualified. You probably are. But because nothing she can see confirms it.

That's the gap. Not your clinical ability. The distance between who you are in the operatory and who you appear to be online.
