Part two of my road trip… Cincinnati to Denver 💞
Helping my youngest son, John, get settled into his new apartment in Denver and an exciting new career reminded me that no matter how old our children get, there will always be a part of us that wants to keep them close.
But that’s never really been my goal as a mom.
I’ve always wanted my kids to spread their wings, chase opportunities, and build lives they love – even if those lives, take them far from home. I know it’s because I never left the town in which I grew up in, and raised my children in.
John has landed an incredible job that will challenge him, help him grow, and give him opportunities to travel and learn. And one of the sweetest parts? He’s only about 15 minutes from my daughter Tori and her new husband Francisco. Knowing they’ll get to spend time together, hiking, biking, exploring Colorado, and simply being there for each other makes my heart happy.
As I was flying home, I realized something.
My job is to cheer them on while I continue building a life that I love, too.
This season looks different than I had imagined years ago, but it’s filled with so much to be grateful for.
And to be honest… having reasons to visit Denver, New York City, and St Pete, Florida excites me.
I love this stage of life. Watching my children become remarkable adults has been one of the greatest joys of being their mom. They continue to amaze me, and I can’t wait to see where life takes each of them next. ❤️
