Good Steward Consulting

Good Steward Consulting The Good Steward Consulting Team is comprised of educated, experienced, Midwesterners who implement All while being the best energy option for America.

Good Steward Consulting is dedicated to the successful future of small-town America and agriculture, as the backbone which supports feeding our world. We are passionate about renewable energy and other rural developments for environmental and economic reasons. Our founder spent the past nine years as a farm wife and mother living on the edge of a 120+ turbine wind farm. Although not a participatin

g landowner in the project, she welcomed the development and the opportunities afforded to her township and neighbors. Wind turbines and solar panels are lifelines helping to secure the future of multi-generational farming operations and allowing for further income diversification during times of commodity price volatility.

Our next Local Representative we want to introduce you all to is Samantha!๐Ÿ‘

Samantha is a Local Representative for a solar project in Illinois. Hear from her on why she thinks Local Representatives play a vital role in renewable energy projects:

"I believe having a local rep is vital, especially because I live right here in the community. Working directly with familiar local landowners creates a trust and comfort, while also being able to offer a local office and phone line makes all the difference. What I love most is not only collaborating with county residents but also volunteering and helping fund local organizations through donations. The [Solar] Project has truly raised the bar here, always going the extra mile and being transparent every step of the way. It's been a blessing for my family, and I can't imagine a more rewarding job, one that brings genuine smiles to people's faces!"

This week, we would like to introduce you to Jerry!๐Ÿ‘‹

Jerry is a Local Representative for a wind farm in Minnesota. Hear from him below about his perspective as a local representative:

"I believe having a local representative for the project matters. Iโ€™ve lived in this area my entire life-over 70 years and have a long-standing relationship with many of the landowners involved. Because of that, I understand the land, the community, and the importance of treating people with respect. My goal is to make sure landowners have someone they know and trust to help them understand the direction of the project and represent their interests along the way.

What I enjoy most about being the local representative for[the project] is simply working with people. Itโ€™s great to hear how excited folks are about the project. Whether itโ€™s at a friends meeting or a landowner update meeting, those conversations were what I look forward to most.

Over the past few years working on this project, Iโ€™ve learned a great deal-both about myself working with people and about the renewable energy industry. Iโ€™ve gained a better understanding of where our electricity goes, how much energy is being produced by sources like wind and solar, and how growing demand is shaping our energy future. One thing thatโ€™s become clear to me is that renewable energy isnโ€™t a cure-all but is an important piece of the puzzle. If we want to meet future energy needs in a responsible way, it has to be part of the mix. Iโ€™ve truly enjoyed learning and staying informed through our local representative updates, and being part of these ongoing conversations."

Solar energy offers a fantastic solution to safeguard farmland from urban expansion.

Unlike urban development, which permanently alters the landscape, solar leases typically span 30โ€“40 years. This allows land to eventually revert back to row crop production, ensuring our agricultural legacy endures.

Renewable energy projects can help small-scale farmers make ends meet, but some rural residents donโ€™t like changes to the agricultural landscape.

This month we would like to spotlight the hard work that our Local Representatives put into the projects we work on. First up is Erin Rydgren!๐Ÿ‘

Erin is a Local Representative for a solar project in Iowa. Hear from her on why she thinks Local Representatives play a vital role in renewable energy projects:

"I think the local rep role is important because that individual serves as the bridge for the rest of the project team. They are an authentic contributor who provides local insight, guidance, and real relationships with the project community. Realistically, they are the ones who will be living there long after the development team has moved on. They will be driving past the project, still
interacting with friends and neighbors, regardless of whether those individuals supported or opposed the construction, and experiencing the changes brought to the area. They are wholly invested in their communities for the most genuine reason: they belong to them."
