Why are so many highly educated people broke and without real careers? Because education alone doesn’t build confidence. Confidence comes from experience—from facing a problem, admitting you don’t yet have the answer, committing to find it, implementing a solution, and pushing through until you succeed. Too many Americans have grown comfortable letting others solve problems for them. That dependence is exactly why we’re in crisis today: the people doing the solving are acting in their own interests, not ours.
