June is supposed to be a time to recognize, celebrate, and support the LGBTQ+ community. But right now is not a time of celebration. It's a time to mourn our collective failures and take action to eradicate the systemic racism that has led to the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and the many who have come before. As a country, we profess that we were founded on the principle of equality but our actions tell a different story. We're devastated that the fight for equality has not yet penetrated the hearts and minds of all citizens of this country. We must all take action.
