While overall audiences for the national network evening news programs have gotten smaller, they still snag an average of over 18 million viewers a day.

ABC and NBC are strong competitors for first and second place in the ratings race. The CBS Evening News is a distant third - which is interesting, given that very little of the conversation about what new leadership at CBS is doing mentions the network's poor evening news ratings over many years (and poor morning news ratings, for that matter).

WNT was still the top-rated broadcast in total viewers.

The FCC is warning TV networks that late night talk shows and daytime talk shows should provide a balance of political opinions under equal time rules. Until now, those shows had been considered news programs and not subject to the same equal time requirements of entertainment programs.

Cable networks (Fox News, MSNBC, etc.) are not covered by these same guidelines that cover broadcast TV stations and networks.

How valuable is streaming to networks and providers?

For almost two weeks, Disney has been in a fight with YouTube about carrier fees for streaming Disney channels (ABC, ESPN, etc.).
