We thought you all may enjoy the beginning of reintroducing our series starting way back in 2014 called The Lakes of Salem County.

We have reshared the old articles & photo galleries and will be updating them as well as adding to them in the upcoming weeks. Also, we will be featuring each of the couple dozen lakes/ponds that are both private and public in Salem County.

The interactive Google Map of all of the locations is on the bottom of the introductory article for the series at the link in the comments: or just click here https://thenewsofsalemcounty.com/lakes-of-salem-county/

Good morning Salem County.

Have a great Tuesday.

High Tide where Deep Run branches off of Alloway Creek which is seen further back in the photo. Deep Run is seen running under Quinton-Alloway Road and eventually connects to Elkinton Pond, Houses Pond, onto the Paradise Lakes area and further even to Bostwick Lake. It once was a power source and spawn of industry in Alloway Twp.

Fenwick’s Soil: The Enduring Ecological Tapestry of Salem County

"...In Salem County, the dirt isn’t just soil; it’s a 350-year-old inheritance. Through a stroke of geological luck, an enduring pioneer legacy, and fiercely modern conservation, this quiet corner of the Garden State proves that sometimes, the most valuable thing you can do with the earth is let it GROW."

Did you know that Salem County is home of two historic truss bridges?

New Bridge is slated to be demolished and replaced!! With the road not being used since 1991 (35 years), why would we need to tear it down?

There is a Salem County Board of Commissioners Meeting scheduled for 4:00PM this Wednesday June 17th if you would like to go and express your concerns during the public speakers portion.

Read some interesting facts and check out a photo gallery from each by visiting our website link in the comments below.
