In our latest client interview, Anna Strobel shares, "I have received very positive responses from both family and friends. The times I have heard 'I never knew that!' are too numerous to count. I hope that those who have seen this book will be inspired to do the same for their families, as it provides a background that enriches relationships."

In a follow-up piece to her June blog post, "Generations of a Name, Part II: Or Why Genealogy Is Helpful," Director of Publishing Ali de Groot writes:

"It’s a bit of a thrill when a daughter or son one day, seemingly out of the blue, takes an interest in family history, maybe asks you a little question like 'Mama, where did this ring come from?'”

These are the opening lines from "Generations of a Name: Or, Why Genealogy is Helpful," the latest blog post by Director of Publishing Ali de Groot. You can read the full post at this link: https://www.modernmemoirs.com/mmblog/2026/6/generations-of-a-name

Garden Edging That Looks Like a Stack of Classic Books

This garden idea turns ordinary bricks into storybook-style edging, creating the look of well-loved books lining a flower bed. It adds personality, structure, and a touch of nostalgia while still serving a practical purpose in the garden.

Painted brick “spines” inspired by timeless classics like The Secret Garden, Peter Rabbit, Winnie-the-Pooh, The Wind in the Willows, Charlotte’s Web, Anne of Green Gables, Frog and Toad, and The Velveteen Rabbit fit naturally among flowers and greenery, making the garden feel warm and inviting rather than decorative for decoration’s sake.

A garden doesn’t have to be complicated to feel special, sometimes it just needs a good story.
