BRILLIANT IS HIRING: Communications Strategist!
Are you a strategic communicator who thrives under deadline, understands the power of messaging, and wants to work on high-stakes issues shaping Alaska? Brilliant Media Strategies is looking for a Communications Strategist to join our team in Anchorage!
As Alaska’s oldest full-service advertising and public affairs firm, our work directly influences major statewide conversations - spanning natural resource development, ballot initiatives, corporate public affairs, and political campaigns. From day one, you’ll have meaningful ownership over messaging, direct client exposure, and creative collaboration across traditional and digital media.
What you’ll do:
You'll work on candidate campaigns, putting your political instincts and rapid-response skills to work. Your role will transition into our broader public affairs and issue-advocacy portfolio. You will write high-impact messaging (op-eds, speeches, scripts, digital copy), monitor emerging media trends, and collaborate on visual concepts.
What we’re looking for:
• 3+ years of experience in strategic communications, public affairs, campaign management, or journalism
• Exceptional, publication-ready writing skills under pressure
• Strong news judgment, political instincts, and adaptability with modern workflow tools (including AI)
• Based in (or willing to relocate to) Anchorage, Alaska
What we offer:
• Full-time competetive salary, plus bonus opportunity
• Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
• 401(k) plan, competitive PTO, paid sick leave, and paid holidays
• Midtown Anchorage office with hybrid (remote work) flexibility
