Hello Facebook! My name is Gracie & I joined my furever family about a year & a half ago! I was about 10 months old at the time & now I'm almost 2 1/2. I am definitely more play- than food-motivated. I love the dog park & behave appropriately! My mom needs advice, though, because although I have a history of being great with most people-- kids & adults alike-- recently I have developed a behavior of sometimes barking at (usually) men who I don't know. Specifically, when one of my humans is leash walking me somewhere or if I'm just hangin' out at home. I do not behave this way at the dog park or when I get my nails trimmed (even if the groomer is a stranger). I just might back up a little bit if someone I don't know tries to pet me before I am finished sniffing them. While I do walk well on a leash I've also developed a behavior of barking at other dogs during my walks, but specifically ones who I am not familiar with in my neighborhood. Sometimes I get so excited (?) that I am on my hind legs, barking & lunging. It is intimidating to others-- even though I am a big, white floof I am pretty tall & my bark quite ferocious. I don't know how to explain the reason behind this new behavior to my mom, so if any dog whisperers out there want to translate for me I know she would greatly appreciate it. Silly humans.
