One year ago today, the Art at Large team ventured to New York City to celebrate the opening of the Top of the Rock Experience, as brilliantly reimagined by THG Creative and their client Tishman Speyer. The thought and consideration that went into enhancing how visitors experience this iconic landmark space, as well as the level of expertise brought forth by all parties, make this experience a destination like no other.

Through Shannon Associates, THG connected with Sally Comport to conceptualize and create more than 304-linear-feet of hand-painted murals that convey the visual history of Rockefeller Center, keeping with the artistry of Rockefeller Center's existing one-of-a-kind public art collection.

To echo the gold details throughout the site, Comport enlisted fellow Art at Large artist Lindsay Lowery to gild the murals with 23k gold Art Deco style "sparks"—reinforcing the concept of Rockefeller Center as a timeless spark of creativity, innovation, and imagination.

Today marks 105 years since the ratification of the 19th Amendment, granting women the right to vote in the United States. Here's a look back at the path to suffrage with the 2020 exhibit "Votes for Women: A Visual History." We were proud to partner with Charles Mack Design and the BRMA Curatorial team for the design of this momentous exhibition at the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art.

One particularly special feature for the museum considered to be the cornerstone institution of American illustration was the "Hidden Figures of the Suffrage Movement" display, featuring 14 custom illustrated portraits from an all-female line-up of talented illustrators including Shadra Strickland, Laura Freeman, Sarah Jung, Alexandra Beguez, and our own Sally Comport.
