Brad Burgett, Pushmataha County Commissioner of District 2, is requesting for all log trucks stay off of Red Hill Road. The request comes following the completion of an overlay on Red Hill Road and their wish to preserve it as long as possible.

Signs have been posted for log trucks to travel HWY 271 to gain access to the mill's scale house. Twain has stated they have advised truckers of this as well.

In approximately 180 days, Greenwood Road will be completed, making travel to the mill safer for trucks and the residents that live on Greenwood Road.

ATOKA COUNTY: Mandatory EVACUATION

***The following message is transmitted at the request of Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management.***

At 1715 a large and destructive wildfire was burning out of control north of Atoka spreading rapidly north along the west side of the Atoka Reservoir. Wildfires can damage or destroy structures and can harm or kill people and animals. For your safety EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY to the northwest toward Lehigh.

Those between Highway 69 and East Tower Road and North Coal Creek Road should LEAVE this area NOW to avoid injury or death. Do not
delay to pack belongings. Evacuate towards the northwest to

Lehigh. Roads in the area may be impacted by fire and smoke. Never drive into heavy smoke.

Rattan Fire Department has stated that they are aware of the fire that is happening around Tram trail (up Cloudy Road north of Rattan) .

Forestry has crews on it, and Cloudy Vol. Fire dept has some personnel on it as well.

For the sake of all departments involved, as well as your own safety, STAY OFF OF TRAM TRAIL. Do not interfere with personnel on the fire just because you want to go look at it. The roads are narrow and some roads are one way in and several dead ends.

THREE ARRESTED FOLLOWING HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION IN ANTLERS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SEPTEMBER 11, 2026

ANTLERS, OK - On September 2, 2026, the Pushmataha County Sheriff's Office requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate a homicide.

That morning, deputies responded to a business in the 100 block of Northwest E Street in Antlers. A caller had told dispatchers they witnessed a homicide.

Deputies and OSBI special agents immediately began processing the scene. Based on the information gathered, investigators identified three persons of interest.

Arrest warrants were issued by the Pushmataha County District Court for 29-year-old David Basham, 28-year-old Bonnie Simpson, and 25-year-old Kolby Osterdock.

On September 8, 2026, Osterdock was located and arrested by the Idabel Police Department and booked into the McCurtain County Jail on Accessory to Murder. On September 10, 2026, Simpson was arrested by the United States Marshals Service and also booked into the McCurtain County Jail on Accessory to Murder.

On September 11, 2026, Basham was located in Wisconsin by the United States Marshals Service and booked into the Sheyboygan County Jail in Wisconsin on a First-Degree Murder complaint.

At this time, investigators are still searching for the adult male victim. Anyone with additional information regarding this case is asked to contact the OSBI tip line at [email protected] or 1-800-522-8017.

David Lane Basham was taken into custody in Sheboygan County Wisconsin on multiple drug and weapons charges. Pushmataha County Sheriff’s Office will extradite him on First Degree Murder Charges.

Kolby Osterdock was taken into custody in Mccurtain County on Charges of Accessory To Murder In The First Degree

Bonnie Wadkins was taken into custody in Mccurtain County on charges of Accessory After The Fact, 3 counts of Desertion Of A Child Under 10, and Domestic Abuse Assault And Battery

Pushmataha County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the Moyers area today at approximately 11:00 a.m. OSBI was requested to assist in the investigation.

Mike May, 60, succumbed to his injuries Tuesday night after he was found unresponsive under a carport at Julian’s Lumber Yard just outside of Rattan early Saturday morning, September 5.
