...add height!
I call this "the curve of your foot" method which helps with anything tapered - slim straight, straight, skinny, etc.
If you have a pant that goes into the curve of your front ankle into the top of your foot, and then you wear a heavy looking shoe, you're going to look compact - think a sneaker π
You can fix it the following ways ππ½
β’ Cuff the bottom of the pant if you can. Sometimes you can do under. When in doubt: cuff up for jeans, if the hem is thicker on a dress pant, fold under as it should stay as you move throughout the day. I would then wear a shoe that's clean and simple and comes only half-way up your foot. Think a simple loafer or flat.
β’ Or, wear a shoe with height so it elongates your foot. You want the shoe to be more simple and clean, nothing too heavy looking as you'll most likely still appear compact and clunky.
Ex: You know how a classic pump is simple and clean? Same concept, but it can be a wedge, block heel, etc. if you're not into pumps
β’ We're talking for warmer weather, but if it's colder, wear a pointed toe, almond toe, or square toe, heeled boot
