Many customers do not realize that when doing bulk mail they can avoid buying an annual permit, unless they want to do the mailing in house with their own resources. Otherwise, just use the permit of the mail service you are contracting with and it costs you nothing. The cost of the permit is $265. Put that money into your own pocket!

At one time you could send a letter for 1¢. That was in 1895 when this stamp of Benjamin Franklin was issued. Now that same letter will cost you more than 50¢ - unless you take advantage of the steep bulk mail discounts we offer.
Fall is the traditional time for fundraising appeals, political mail and organizational newsletters.

We should all be encouraged by this. I think Congress if finally recognizing the value of the postal service and that something needs to be done.

The best shot for Congress to pass comprehensive postal reform legislation just got better, with a bipartisan coalition of 20 senators introducing companion legislation to a bill soon headed for a House vote.

The Postal Service Reform Act, if passed, would be the first major postal reform legislation in 15 years.

There is good news on the horizon for USPS.

A bipartisan group of senators introduced legislation Wednesday to lift significant financial burdens off the ailing U.S. Postal Service while tightening accountability requirements for mail delivery, a major stride for an agency that has tussled with its balance sheet and reputation for the better part of a year.

The bill, identical to a version that has advanced in the House, would repeal $5 billion a year in mandatory retiree health-care expenses and require future postal retirees to enroll in Medicare. Advocates say the measures would save the agency $30 billion over the next decade.

This is not the end of the story but a good beginning.

Just dropped a mailing off at post office. Customer spent $450 on previous postage. We reduce this to $138! This is a small neighborhood group that mails 4x per year. Nice that they can now save $1,200 a year in postage alone.

This is the reason I started Do-Good.biz almost 20 years ago.

Lots of people are wondering about the on-time delivery performance of the USPS. It has improved within the past few months.

"The Postal Service is getting on-time mail delivery back on track. USPS data shows the agency delivered more than 80% of first-class mail on time from mid-March through early April. It’s a step up from last year’s peak holiday period, when USPS only delivered about 60% of mail on-time in some weeks. The agency released the data as part of ongoing lawsuits challenging its ability to handle election mail."

The 50 lb rule. Normally marketing mail discounts kick in at a minimum 200 piece threshold - except when the weight of the entire mailing is 50 lbs or more. So if your piece weighs 4 ounces or more, you can mail at the discounted marketing rate.
The difference in postage between a 4 ounce flat going 3rd class (post office prefers the wording "marketing mail"), vs. 1st class, can be more than $1.00 to $1.25 per piece. That kind of money adds up quickly into the hundreds or even thousands of dollars.
There is wide variation in the per-piece cost of 3rd class mail. Better to give us a call (612-789-7226) to discuss this type of project and how much money you can actually save.

Did you know that direct mails have a response rate of 5% compared to less than 1% for email, paid search, online display and social media?

The cause of such a heavy response is simple — direct mails are more personalized and tangible. Hence, engage more people.

If you or some group you know would like to know more, give us a call 612-789-7226.
